About the artist:
Milton Becerra is a Venezuelan artist, born in 1951. He graduated from the Cristobal Rojas School in 1972 and later became assistant for 7 years of famous artists like Carlos Cruz-Diez and Jésus-Rafael Soto. Milton Becerra turned towards research work in several currents of the 20th Century, ranging from Kinetic Art to Op Art. He was still a student when he presented his first personal exhibition in 1973, and received a prize. Very attached to his Venezuelan culture, Milton Becerra has managed to combine traditional primitive Venezuelan culture with contemporary artistic tendencies. He develops geometric shapes through thoughts and theories from Kasimir Malévich. Milton Becerra is considered as one of the pioneering artists of the Land Art movement in the 70's, a movement which uses natural elements and makes the spectator react due to the artist's intervention.
